On Christmas Day 2023, Jennifer and her husband were having breakfast with family when their current foster son went limp at 18 days old. What they would experience next was a 3-night hospital stay followed by a list of specialists they would need to see. During their stay, Jennifer had so many people reach out to help, send food or just offer to sit with the their family. She realized then that there are foster families with no network who NEED help so they can better take care of these tiny humans. That night, The Tiny Bexar Coalition was born.
30-50% of foster families quit after their first year. Why? Lack of support. So how do we help? We create a network of volunteers who want to help create a village. What makes us different is that we offer assistance in the form of time, food and soothing so one less thing is on the plate of foster parents.
